This edition of the Liga Weekly is dedicated to one of the most-used words in the English language: “o.k.” Depending on inflection and context, it can have a number of different meanings or connotations. These shades of meaning can be lost when communicating across languages, but the general meaning of the word “o.k.” is almost universally understood; in fact, it has been assimilated as a “loan word” in a number of languages.

The word itself is not that old, but its exact origin is a matter of some debate. We will touch on two of the prevailing theories in this post, as part of an introduction to the new graphic for the 2011 Liga Guadalupe team, Elvis Ate America.

This edition of the Liga Weekly goes out to all the hardcore homemakers, diabolical color schemers, and otherwise crafty women people out there. This week, we salute your hero and figurehead, Martha “M. Diddy” Stewart: the ultimate parole model.

Yes, that’s right; I finished a team logo this week. And you can learn all about it in this post. Grab some cabbage and your favorite cutting board and we’ll be underway.

Of course, I’ll also award FAABulous prize$ for the Liga in week 7. I’m not sure anyone really cares about the FAABulous prize$, though, so this week marks my first attempt to include something that might be of interest to . . . well, anyone.

the liga retrospective: 2010 (pt. 4)

Part 3 of the retrospective introduced you to the Tlachiqueros: one of the most prestigious ranking systems in all of fantasy football. Again, congrats to the Tequila Whistlers for securing the title of Top Tlachiquero of 2010.

I now present to you the Sandbox Paladins—another ranking system that is, I believe, completely unique . . . albeit somewhat less prestigious in implication.

I’ll do my best to keep it succinct.
